Meet M3X 2.0, Your New Favorite Training Machine

Learn how the ATEC M3X 2.0 is engineered to streamline baseball and softball practices.

Designed and built in Sparks, Nevada, the ATEC M3X 2.0 pitching and training machine allows baseball and softball teams to improve practice efficiency every time you hit the field. An evolution of the beloved ATEC M3X training machine, the M3X 2.0 features upgrades like an adjusted ball chute for ease of use, microadjustment knob for more precise positioning and steel wheel guards to protect the machine and its user.

Engineered to upgrade baseball and fastpitch softball training, the M3X 2.0 offers practice solutions for both offense and defense. Highly mobile and extremely powerful, the machine can pitch baseballs at speeds greater than 90 miles per hour and softballs at speeds greater than 70 miles per hour. On baseball and softball fields, the M3X 2.0 can launch fly balls, pop-ups and ground balls faster and more accurately than any coach can hit balls with a fungo bat. Florida State Head Baseball Coach Link Jarrett trains his players with ATEC machines to get the most out of practice time in Tallahassee.

“I’m a huge fan of the ATEC M3X machines and am excited to start using the new 2.0 version. I even requested to have the first ones off the assembly line,” Jarrett said. “The M3X 2.0 machines are great because they’re easy to use and extremely versatile. It’s simple to transition from BP to defensive drills, including ground balls and fly balls. They help us efficiently manage all the drills we need to do to help our players improve and stay on top of their game.”

Precise Ball Placement with the Microadjustment Knob

Located along the base of the M3X 2.0, a new microadjustment knob allows coaches to place the ball exactly where they want it during batting practice or defensive drills. To gradually change the direction of the ball, coach can simply dial the knob right or left. Rather than turning from side to side to change the ball location, the M3X 2.0 uses its microadjusment knob to alter the ball’s flight path, allowing for more realistic practice reps.

Easy Fly Balls with the Updated Ball Chute

Updated to better guide the ball into the machine, the ball chute on the M3X 2.0 makes it easy for coaches to launch fly balls deep into the outfield. The updated angle of the M3X 2.0 ball chute ensures that baseballs and softballs will easily roll into the machine’s three wheels, meaning coaches will no longer need to force feed balls into the machine for outfield training.

The ball chute on the M3X training machine makes it easy for players to track the ball through the release point, and the updated ball chute on the M3X 2.0 maintains that same ball visibility for players in batting practice.

Enhanced Durability with Steel Wheel Guards

Steel wheel guards on the M3X 2.0 training machine replace the ABS Plastic wheel guards on its predecessor. Extremely durable, these wheel guards not only protect the wheels from batted balls, but also help to protect the user from comebackers up the middle.

High density wheels on the M3X 2.0 are engineered to withstand the most intense of practice conditions. Updated steel wheel guards further improve durability and ensure practice doesn’t get interrupted by technical difficulties when a ball ricochets off the machine.

Improved Practice Efficiency with M3X 2.0

With one training machine, coaches can speed up practice repetitions and improve training efficiency. In batting practice, the M3X 2.0 can throw 100 accurate curveballs in a row, helping players dial in on a specific pitch. During defensive drills, the machine will replicate the same ground ball or fly ball over and over again. With an easy setup process, extreme power and tremendous versatility, the M3X 2.0 is capable of any drill a coach can dream of.
